Mr. Holmes {Book to Movie}

Mr. Holmes starring Ian McKellen releases July 17th and is rated PG. I watched the trailer and it looks like a good mystery. This movie is based off of the characters from Arthur Conan Doyle's books "The Sherlock Holmes Series" and the movie is based off the the novel "Sherlock Holmes: A Slight Trick of the Mind" by Mitch Cullin.

{Movie Synopsis}
An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman.

                     {Book Synopsis}

It is 1947, and the long-retired Sherlock Holmes, now 93, lives in a remote Sussex farmhouse with his housekeeper and her young son. He tends to his bees, writes in his journal, and grapples with the diminishing powers of his mind. But in the twilight of his life, as people continue to look to him for answers, Holmes revisits a case that may provide him with answers of his own to questions he didn’t even know he was asking–about life, about love, and about the limits of the mind’s ability to know. A novel of exceptional grace and literary sensitivity, A Slight Trick of the Mind is a brilliant imagining of our greatest fictional detective and a stunning inquiry into the mysteries of human connection.

{Sherlock Holmes}
Ian McKellen
One of my favorite British actors is playing Sherlock Holmes. Who better than Ian McKellen?
Ian McKellen has been in so many great movies. He was Magneto in all the X-Men movies and he was in all the Hobbit Movies and the Lord of the Ring Movies playing Gandalf. He has some more roles coming out soon. Animal Crackers, and Beauty and the Beast playing Cogsworth.

Milo Parker
What a cutie! Milo Parker's first movie was Robot Overlords and he is currently working on another book to movie which I will for sure do a post on Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children where he plays Hugh. That movie comes out next March.
