Delicious Dish: Tropical Lime Punch

Well, summer is officially here and everyone needs a go-to punch recipe.  This is, in my opinion the punch of all punch recipes.  You may have been like me and have tasted and gulped, and gone back for seconds (and even thirds) at picnics, reunions, showers, or parties, but have yet to track down the recipe and make it for yourself.

Well, you're in luck!

Hopefully this will encourage you to make it for your next get together, because it's sure to be a party pleaser.  Plus, this yummy green tropical drink looks pretty, is extremely quick and easy and is especially perfect for those summer BBQs and Luaus (like the incredible book club party we had for REMAKE by Ilima Todd).

2 quarts lime sherbet (Even half of a 1.5 carton was enough for my sweet tooth)
2 liters ginger ale
1 (46 ounce) can pineapple juice
Lemon Slices
Lime Slices
(you can also add maraschino cherries if you like)

In a punch bowl or drink dispenser, add your sherbet first and then follow with the ginger ale and pineapple juice, stirring to mix the pineapple juice slightly.

Watch it foam and bubble...

Then add your lemon and lime slices on top for garnish.

I prefer a punch bowl to get the foamy goodness of the sherbet on top (plus it's prettier!), but a drink dispenser works equally well.

Original recipe can be found here on the Food Network and don't expect to have leftovers!

Enjoy!

XO,
