Yes, OUTLANDER is Back!

So I started watching this show on Starz last year. It had me so intrigued that I had to read the book to find out what happened next. I couldn't wait a whole week to find out what was going to happen to Claire and Jamie so I ended up reading the book in about three days.

(Wow and that was fast because this book is huge.) No wonder Diana Gabaldon has such a huge fan following. This series is so so good. Admittedly, I am only on book number 3. I mean jeez if you have seen these books then you know they take a while to read.

Starz turned this book into a TV series. They only aired 8 episodes this last fall and wanted to build a bigger fan base by letting the word get around that this is an amazing series to watch. Their plan worked. Their fan base is even bigger now and we all can't wait to see how the first season will end.

If you haven't been watching you can catch up all day April 4th starting at 1pm eastern time on Starz. They are airing episodes 1-8 followed by the much anticipated episode 9.

My aunt got me hooked on this series and I am glad she did. She has a fabulous Outlander Pinterest Board so you should definitely go check it out and follow it if you love anything Outlander.

Let me give you a run down on what you will need to know about Outlander and the Cast.

Book Synopsis

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire—and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Show Synopsis

This is definitely not for children so check out the Parental Guide before deciding for yourself.

Tobias Menzies {Frank Randall & Jack Randall}

I think that Tobias plays the hardest roll. He has to be the loving, grieving husband in the future and the horrible, cruel bad guy in the past. He has to play total opposite rolls in the same show. You will loave Jack Randall after watching this. He was born in London and has acted in such movies as, Casino Royal, Atonement, Finding Neverland and Game of Thrones playing Edmure Tully. His upcoming gig is a short film called The Birthday Gift and he is in another TV Series called Catastrophe.

Duncan Lacroix {Murtagh Fraser}

Duncan is known for acting in A Terrible Beauty, and Vikings (which is still haven't watched yet but is on my list of shows to start watching).

Graham McTavish {Dougal MacKenzie}

You may not recognize this guy without a dwarf like beard, but he plays Dwalin in The Hobbit Movies. He has been in so many other movies including, Columbiana and Secretariat. His voice is also famous in many combat type video games. He has three films coming out later this year, The Finest Hour, Creed, and The Stolen.
