"Hunted" Book Club Ideas

We decided to read this book because it was coming out around the same time as the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast and this book is a retelling of that same fairytale. We liked that it was a little different than the original and had it's own way to tell a story and Beauty is a skillful tracker and hunter in this story. You will have to read it to find out more.

“To the girl
who reads by flashlight
who sees dragons in the clouds
who feels most alive in worlds that never were
who knows magic is real
who dreams
This is for you”
Meagan Spooner, Hunted

How cute are these fruit skewers in the shape of arrows. They were perfect. Even leaving them on the tables after we eat added to the decor of the night.

Smores - I loved this set up. We were indoors and so didn't have a camp fire to roast the marshmallows over so this was the perfect replacement for doing it indoors.

A little veggie delight in your own personal cup and put on this platter was the perfect touch.

The woodsy feel is what you are trying to accomplish so anything pine, animals, wildflowers, furs and of course bow and arrows.

For an activity you could make some necklaces with supplies from any craft store.

We have made a quiz that you can download. Enjoy!

1.) What parts of the original Beauty and the Beast story did you like in Hunted? Which did you dislike?

2.) What did you think of Yeva's character?  Did she make a believable Beauty?

3.) Did you find the Beast to be a character you could fall in love with? What did you think of him using "us" when he talked of himself?

4.) Yeva's sister and her relationship with Salitar - what did you think?

5.) What are your favorite adaptions of Beauty and the Beast?

Thank you to Robin for moderating for Hunted by Meagan Spooner. She did such a fabulous job as always. We love seeing what you come up with Robin.

“She wept because she did not know what she wanted, and because she wanted everything.”
