"Still Alice" Book Club Ideas Part 2

Hopefully you have already seen Still Alice Book Club Ideas Part 1, if you haven't you need to go check out the food ideas.

Still Alice by Lisa Genova is one of those must read books. If you are looking for a book to read in book club then look no more. You will not be disappointed.

“You're so beautiful," said Alice. "I'm afraid of looking at you and not knowing who you are."
"I think that even if you don't know who I am someday, you'll still know that I love you."
"What if I see you, and I don't know that you're my daughter, and I don't know that you love me?"
"Then, I'll tell you that I do, and you'll believe me.”
-Still Alice

Doesn't this quote bring tears to your eyes!

One thing that I learned from reading this book is that when we know more about something like in this case Alzheimer's Disease, we are understand more and are more empathetic for the people who are touched by this disease. It's not easy being the one going through it but it is also not easy seeing someone you love lose all their memories of their life and the people in it.

Let's get started with some ideas for Decorations.

Cami had the idea to have Book Club set in Alice's favorite cafe. So naturally anything with books, china, tea, fresh flowers and in our case cute chairs and tables with lace table cloths. We set it up outside since it's summer.

Butterflies are also perfect to throw on the tables

Cami made these adorable Journal prompts for everyone to take home. This is a great way to come up with things to write about in your journal. Journaling is the perfect way to help preserve memories.

Candles are perfect to make some great ambiance but also if you use the bug repellent ones it helps keep the bugs away.

Fresh flowers on every table made it so beautiful.

Using books as table decor!

Book Club Info!
Before the start of the discussion at book club we always go over what's coming up next and give the members any info they will need until the next meeting. Communication with your members is key to keeping your book club going strong.

Looks like Kaylynn and Erika won the quiz and got this super cute necklace to take home.

Thank you so much to Cami who moderated book club this month and hosted. This was her first time moderating and she did such an awesome job.

Thank you to Alix for all the photography!

Our Still Alice Book Review if you haven't seen it yet.

xoxo,

Hi! I'm thinking about creating a book club but people around me are not so interested in books so it will be a little bit hard at the beginning. I'm enjoying so much your tips. I know Still Alice and indeed it will be one of my choices for a book club. I think I'm going to start like you did, inviting people to come over and discuss at my home. Can you send me a printable version of the journal prompts and the quiz please? I assure you that I will give you the credits. Thanks!
