Book Club Ideas for "The Nightingale" {Part 2}

"Some stories don’t have happy endings. Even love stories. Maybe especially love stories."
-Kristin Hannah, The Nightingale

There are so many great quotes in this book. This (above) was just one of them.
You need to read this book in your book club. This is the first book in our history (ten years) that every single person gave it a 5 STAR rating. That is totally unheard of, and that is proof that it will not disappoint you if you pick it for a book. Alix came up with some great ideas and discussion questions. She even made a little game where we had to guess who said what quote.

I loved the tree with the ribbons. In the book Vianne ties a ribbon to a tree in her backyard every time a person she loved left or died. So in honor of those who we have lost in our own lives we tied a ribbon to this tree.

I loved her arrangements of paintings above her fireplace and the real garland she had on the mantel.

Alix also wrote in chalk on this beautiful chalkboard welcoming us to bookclub.

Do you see these cute little clip boards under the chalkboard? This is what she gave to each of us as a gift. They are mini clipboards that can hold a recipe card.
We also took home one of these cute bags with the gold hearts on them. Alix put some sweet taffy in them.

This cute tin next to the take home bags was the prize to the winner of the Quotes Quiz and here is the Quotes Quiz Answer Sheet.
Congrats to Bryn by the way! She kicked all our butts and only missed two.

Isabelle and Vianne wore many HATS during the tragedy of World War II. In fact, women in general are always wearing multiple hats so our members came wearing their favorite hats.

I love reading books by this author. My writing talents are unfortunately not the same as hers. But I’m glad that I found professional writers that write literature review and other tasks. This service helped me during my studies. And I passed my essays on time, which improved my performance.
